DEI doesn’t and shouldn’t ever address a symptom. If that’s the way it’s being implemented and designed, it’s being done wrong. Studies have shown that even in the hiring process, there is discrimination. It always amazes me how someone will talk about how they approach hiring, as if that’s the only way it is being done. We have to learn not to apply our experience to every experience. If you are capable of achieving skill based hiring, I applaud that, but don’t think because you practice it, that a majority of companies do, they don’t.
